Two major sections comprise this first in a projected series of bibliographies and reference works on documentation, libraries, and archives. The series will be published by the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and is intended to replace UNESCO's series of bibliographical handbooks. Part I of this volume offers some general considerations on the development of bibliographical services during the period 1965-69, covering the following topics: 1) national commissions for bibliography; 2) library cooperation; 3) national bibliographies; 4) types of materials; 5) current bibliographies of special subjects; 6) periodical indexes; 7) training in bibliography; 8) legal deposit; and 9) archives. Part II reviews the activities undertaken in each of 128 nations in each of these nine major categories. (PB)
