Fishman, "Attitudes and Beliefs about Spanish and English among Puerto Ricans"; Helen H. Johnson, "Teacher Attitude and Ghetto Language"; Kenneth R. Johnson, "Should Black Children Learn Standard English?"; and Peter S. Rosenbaum, "Aspects of Instructional Product Design." In addition, an afterword by the editor discusses the preparation of language arts teachers for ghetto schools.
