This report represents a detailed summation of existing workforce levels, training programs, career potential, and staffing level projections through 1981 for EPA Region VII. This region serves the states of Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, and Nebraska. The specific pollution programs considered include air, noise, pesticides, potable water, radiation, solid waste, and wastewater. The content of each section is limited to the control authority which EPA possesses. The study was undertaken to provide a strategy for supporting and implementing environmental education and career training programs based on needs and growth trends evidenced by the initial workforce assessment.
