Explored data from previous research and new interviews with 30 divorced custodial parents to develop a model explaining traditional marital role influence on adjustment to single parenthood. Results reemphasized applicability of Hill's (1958) ABCX model of adapting to family crisis. Applications in educational and counseling settings are provided. (Author)
