Allen; "Grammar and Language Teaching" by J.P.B. Allen and H.G. Widdowson;" Phonological Theory and Language Teaching" by Gillian Brown; and "Semantics and Language Teaching" by Paul Van Buren. The sociological and psychological approaches to language are dealt with in the final three chapters: "Sociolinguistics and Language Teaching" by C. Criper and H.G. Widdowson; "Psychology and Language Learning" by Elisabeth Ingram; and "Adult Theories, Child Strategies and their Implications for the Language Teacher" by Ruth Clark. (Author/AM)
