Case Studies
Ritter, Lois A., Ed.; Sue, Valerie M., Ed.
New Directions for Evaluation, n115 p57-64 Fall 2007
This article presents two case studies using online surveys for evaluation. The authors begin with an example of a needs assessment survey designed to measure the amount of help new students at a university require in their first year. They then discuss the follow-up survey conducted by the same university to measure the effectiveness of the programs implemented on the basis of the needs assessment survey. To demonstrate how online surveys can be successfully integrated into a large-scale evaluation, they next describe a four-year, multimillion-dollar evaluation of a telemedicine project that used online surveys for needs assessments, process, outcome, and impact evaluation. (Contains 4 figures and 2 tables.)
