A Teaching, Technology, and Faculty Development Timeline
Baepler, Paul
Journal of Faculty Development, v24 n2 p40-48 May 2010
A timeline is a flyover of history. It outlines shapes and helps define larger patterns. It is an efficient, if not comprehensive way to conceive of a long, complex span of time. This article presents a timeline of events, ideas, and technological innovation that provides a foundational historical record on the confluence of teaching and technology. This timeline is not meant as a replacement for a more complete history. Its function, the author hopes, is to help orient the reader to a great amount of good work that has taken place over the past century.
