Many studies have indicated that by having students work in groups and participate in project-based activities provide a more active approach to their learning process. With the increased emphasis on social constructivism, the need to acquire communications, organizational and teamwork skills have become vital lifelong learning skills for the rapidly changing of knowledge-based society. This study focuses on students in a university course who were required to cooperate with each other in small groups in order to develop a multimedia application while using web-logs to share their knowledge and interact with their peers, forming a learning community in the classroom. The objective of this paper is to gauge the students' perceptions and their experience in this environment. A set of questionnaires were given to them to obtain feedback on their experience in this environment. The results showed that they enjoyed working as a team and were able to help one another to achieve their goals. Furthermore, it showed that the environment allowed the students to share and interact with their peers and encourages them to do their best work. This learning approach was created to foster active, self-directed and techno-savvy learners for lifelong learning. (Contains 1 table and 4 figures.)
