Military Expenditure and Socio-Economic Development.
Ball, Nicole
International Social Science Journal, v35 n1 p81-97 1983
The relationship between military expenditure and the stimulation of aggregate demand, inflation, investment, trade balance, foreign exchange, the improvement of taxation, and employment creation and industrialization in the Third World is analyzed. To some extent military expenditure does promote economic growth, but it does not automatically promote socioeconomic development. (SR)
