The authors report the outcomes of introducing undergraduate research to family science majors at Zayed University, United Arab Emirates. The program has enriched students' educational experiences and has had tangible benefits. In addition to acquiring research skills, students improved in critical analysis, originality, independent learning, communication, and self-confidence. Other outcomes included the creation of research assistant opportunities--thereby providing students with further hands-on experience--financial gains, and work placement as a result of their research skills.
