The Business-Government Relationship: A Reassessment.
Jacoby, Neil H., Ed.
American social scientists and business executives diagnose the current state of the business-government relationship in the United States. As part of a seminar, each of 14 participants presented a paper which is reproduced in the book. The 14 papers are divided into three chapters entitled The Changing of Societal Environment, Modes and Social Costs of Governmental Regulation of Business, and Improving the Business-Government Relationship. The following three chapters include the transcripts of the taped discussion of the papers and are entitled Diagnosis of the Contemporary Relationship, Setting Priorities for Education and Research, and Implementing a Program. The final chapter is a summary of consensus viewpoints on the major issues, including a strategy for change and improvement of the business-government relationship. (DE)
