Designed to help elementary teachers motivate students to read, this illustrated booklet presents a store of classroom ideas that promote and enrich reading. Materials presented include (1) instructions for making a "bookworm" bookmark for each student; (2) various animated bulletin board games intended to accompany the reading process and to help students keep track of their progress; (3) a list of books to have fun with, complemented by interesting recipes that spice up the presentation; (4) recipe ideas, some of which involve student participation and are book related; (5) task cards which, if creatively developed, allow teachers to pre-plan and program learning activities for independent student use; and (6) several ideas for follow-up activities that reward children for their reading accomplishments and stimulate further endeavors.
