Abstracts of Energy Materials for College Classes.
Messenger, Roger A.; And Others
This guide provides citations and abstracts for 250 energy-related resources which can be used to incorporate energy education into the structure of existing college courses. In addition to citing books, articles, unpublished papers, films, and videotapes, the resource guide cites sets of class notes and course outlines that have been filed with Florida's Energy Office. Each of the numbered entries provides, where applicable, title, author, publisher, date of publication, and a brief, critical abstract. Use of this guide is facilitated by a subject index which arranges entries under four general topics: (1) Energy Supply (subheadings within this category are oil, gas, coal, synfuels, nuclear energy, solar energy, wind, biomass, and miscellaneous energy forms); (2) Energy Consumption (subheadings here are transportation, heating and cooling, and lighting); (3) Energy Impact (subheadings here are environmental, social, and economic impacts); and (4) Conservation (subheadings here are conservation opportunities, obstacles, and technology). Further access to the resource guide is provided by two additional indexes. One arranges the materials in terms of their applicability to each of 134 courses identified using the State of Florida Common Course Numbering System for colleges and universities. The second offers access by publisher or author. (JP)
