Review of National Teachers Examination by the Oregon State System of Higher Education. 23 Specialty Area Tests from October Review. 2 Specialty Area Tests from May Review.

This report summarizes findings on 26 National Teacher Examination specialty area tests provided by faculty reviewers from five Oregon institutions of higher education. Reviewers were asked to judge tests on the basis of: (1) whether students at the reviewer's institution would have the opportunity to acquire the knowledge measured in test items; (2) importance of test items for persons endorsed in that specialty; and (3) technical adequacy of items. Subjects reviewed were: (1) art education; (2) audiology; (3) biology and general science; (4) business education; (5) chemistry, physics, and general science; (6) early childhood education; (7) education of the mentally retarded; (8) educational administration and supervision; (9) English language and literature; (10) French; (11) German; (12) guidance counselor; (13) home economics education; (14) industrial arts education; (15) introduction to the teaching of reading; (16) library media specialist; (17) mathematics; (18) music education; (19) physical education; (20) reading specialist; (21) social studies; (22) Spanish; (23) speech communication; (24) education in the elementary school; and (25) professional knowledge.
