Incorporating various forms of social media in the classroom enhances learning and motivates students to contribute to class lessons and activities. This article discusses some successful approaches for implementing wikis, Facebook, Pinterest and Goodreads in the classroom. Social media in the classroom has proved beneficial to developmental and credit courses at Nassau Community Colleges Reading and Basic Education Department. The various platforms offer instructors opportunities to develop creative, meaningful learning experiences for their students.
