Principal Leadership Style and Teacher Feelings and Behavior: Arab Schools in Israel.
Shechtman, Zipora; And Others
School Community Journal, v4 n2 p53-66 Fall-Win 1994
Summarizes a study testing relationship patterns among principal, teacher, and student variables. Participants were randomly selected Arab students (n=800) and teachers (n=160) from 20 schools in northern Israel. Democratic leadership appears to be a central factor of positive school climate in Arab schools in Israel. The social and professional mobility of students graduating from democratic schools is more open than for graduates of more authoritarian schools. (41 references) (MLH)
