Book 3 of the self-instructional manual for tumor registrars deals with tumor registrar vocabulary. It is designed to teach tumor registrars to recognize diagnostic terms versus treatment terms, terms that refer to anatomical sites, terms that refer to patient symptoms. The first three parts of the book are concerned with word roots, prefixes and suffixes. The next three parts are concerned with terms used in describing symptoms, physical findings, and illnesses of cancer patients. The last part is an alphabetical listing of common acronyms, abbreviations, and symbols used in medical charts. Each part uses a question and answer format with a pre- and post-test. (Author/BB)
