SCORE is a collaboration of organisations that aim to improve science education in UK schools and colleges by supporting the development and implementation of effective education policy. Research commissioned by SCORE (Science Community Representing Education), a collaboration including the Association for Science Education (ASE), reports that there is a severe shortage in schools and colleges of essential resources for practical work in science. This has led to calls to safeguard practical science budgets, provide more support for technicians and ensure that there are better outdoor learning spaces. Two reports were published covering the issues at both primary and secondary level (SCORE, 2013a; 2013b).
