The current study reports on a study examining the safety concerns of male and female faculty members on a small university campus. A 160-item questionnaire was distributed to 100 faculty members (58 males and 42 females; response rate was approximately 30%), which asked individuals questions pertaining to socio-demographic information, daily routines and campus activities, awareness of campus services related to safety issues, personal safety precautions taken while on campus, attitudes and beliefs about safety on campus, and finally reported cases of victimization on campus. The findings indicated that not only did women feel more threatened on campus than men did, they also had experienced more cases of harassment and violence. Women also took more personal safety precautions and felt that the university should improve various safety features on campus. Clearly, the incidence of harassment and victimization is as prominent if not more so on a small university campus as in larger universities and workplaces. (Contains 3 tables.)
