Student Decision-Making in Selecting Rehabilitation Counseling Programs and Profession
Arokiasamy, Charles; Rajani, Gita; Tracz, Susan; Orteiza, Roslyn
Rehabilitation Education, v21 n2 p125-132 2007
The current and ever-growing shortage of qualified rehabilitation counselors in the country has made recruitment a high priority among rehabilitation counseling programs. This study identified factors that influenced students' decisions to choose or not choose the rehabilitation counseling profession or a particular rehabilitation counseling program. Findings from this study should help rehabilitation counseling programs develop more effective recruitment strategies to attract qualified students into both the profession and their programs.
