Optimizing Family/Community Places and Spaces for Racial Profiling Discourse.
Diggs, Rhunette C.
Journal of Intergroup Relations, v38 n3 p42-58 Fall 2001
Discussion groups with urban African American and white students and adults investigated their perceptions of racial profiling, examining what it meant to them and their families. Participants reported having heard about racial profiling in family and community contexts. Many told stories that conveyed strong feelings about experiencing racial profiling. Participants defined racial profiling as surveillance and restriction of African Americans. (SM)
