You Have "How Many" Spreadsheets? Rethinking Electronic Resource Management
Rux, Erika; Borchert, Theresa
Computers in Libraries, v30 n8 p21-25 Oct 2010
As libraries face a veritable explosion of electronic resources and as the interconnectedness of print and online resources becomes increasingly complicated, many librarians are challenged to find efficient and cost-friendly ways to manage these resources. In this article, the authors describe how a team of people from various library departments at Concordia College created and implemented a resource manager. The library's Zoho database is a fully functional tool through which the library staff can organize detailed information about resources; add, modify, and delete data in real time; continue to make customizations as their needs change; and easily access data to complete routine and intermittent tasks.
