Penguins and Plagiarism: Stemming the Tide of Plagiarism in Elementary School
Mitchell, Sara
Library Media Connection, v25 n7 p47 Apr-May 2007
Plagiarism is on the rise on high school and college campuses. There are many reasons why students tend to plagiarize. One of these is that many students are interested in the shortest possible route through a course. Some students also fear that their writing ability is inadequate. If student plagiarism and lack of academic integrity are increasing at the high school and college levels, teachers need to take a look at how they prepare students for what is asked of them at those levels. In this article, the author provides strategies on how to stem the tide of plagiarism in elementary school.
