Timing the Random and Anomalous Arrival of Particles in a Geiger Counter with GPS Devices
Blanco, F.; La Rocca, P.; Riggi, F.; Riggi, S.
European Journal of Physics, v29 n2 p355-368 Mar 2008
The properties of the arrival time distribution of particles in a detector have been studied by the use of a small Geiger counter, with a GPS device to tag the event time. The experiment is intended to check the basic properties of the random arrival time distribution between successive events and to simulate the investigations carried out by professional cosmic ray experiments in the search for anomalous bursts of events. (Contains 12 figures and 1 table.)
