This teacher's guide contains 11 units of instruction for a course on computer electronics and computer-assisted drafting (CAD) using a personal computer (PC). The course covers the following topics: introduction to electronic drafting with CAD; CAD system and software; basic electronic theory; component identification; basic integrated circuit families and packages; logic, schematic, and other diagrams; electronic packaging design; PC board design; PC board layout; PC board fabrication; and production packages. Each of the instructional units, which are keyed to similar student units of study, includes some or all of the following basic components of a unit of instruction: objective sheet, suggested activities for the teacher, answers to assignment sheets and written test, written test, unit evaluation form, teacher supplements, transparency masters, information sheets, assignment sheets, student supplements, and job sheets. All of the unit components focus on measurable and observable learning outcomes; they are designed for use in more than one lesson or class period of instruction.
