Zhu, Chang
British Journal of Educational Technology, v44 n3 p484-501 May 2013
The implementation process of educational technology and computer-supported collaborative learning (CSCL) is complex as it is influenced by context variables. This research aims to examine in a comprehensive way the effect of the cultural environment and school organizational culture features on the implementation of CSCL. A total of 832 students and teachers from five secondary schools in Mainland China, Hong Kong China and Flanders, Belgium participated in this study. The results show that cultural dimensions (openness and collaboration) and school organisational culture features (innovation orientation and structured leadership) were significant factors relating to the implementation of CSCL. (Contains 4 tables and 2 figures.)
