Results of a survey of cancer education activities in 101 medical schools are discussed, including the needs for multidisciplinary instruction, more exposure of students to patients with common malignancies, and more uniform instruction in fundamental diagnostic procedures. An instructional approach relating educational objectives to departmental teaching assignments is examined. (MSE)
