Comparisons of Conceptual Preference for Cultural and Leadership Behavior in an Information Technology Organization

The primary focus of the research study conducted was to analyze the predictive leadership behaviors of Southern Asian and United States individuals in the information technology career field. This research validates the leadership traits and behaviors of information technology types of United States individuals that enhance the impact of globalization on organizational success. Participants were anonymously surveyed as members of the Shell Oil Products US and Computer Sciences Corporation. Data was collected using the GLOBE Leader Attributes and Behavior Questionnaire established by Robert House et al. (2004) and GLOBE based on Hofstede's culture dimensions (1980). The GLOBE study findings are used to compare cultural leadership behaviors of Southern Asia and Europe individuals to those in the information technology career field. Statistical analyses were conducted and the results and conclusions were published in the submission of the dissertation. This study serves to contribute to the body of knowledge in leader behavioral traits and cultural differences among leaders.
