This article deals with the development of environmental education Hunan Yueyang Middle School Number One. Famous for its beautiful environment and lush green trees, the school has won titles such as "park" unit, "garden" school, "green school" and "National Advanced Unit for Environmental Education." In order to popularize scientific knowledge of environment among students and to enhance their environmental protection awareness, Yueyang Number One Middle School has launched varied and colorful practical activities on environmental education. In this article, the authors discuss the school's campaign of establishing "green schools" aimed at: (1) teaching scientific knowledge of environment; (2) publicizing environmental protection ideas; and (3) initiating environmental protection practice.
