Sambrook, Richard Alan
Journal of Geography, v107 n4-5 p175-185 Jul 2008
The Kentucky Institute for International Studies is a consortium of colleges and universities that provides semester length and short summer semester over-seas study programs. This article traces the growth of the consortium from its roots at Murray State University in 1975 through the celebration of its thirtieth anniversary in 2005. Aspects considered include the overall growth of the consortium and the type and number of programs offered, as well as the composition of the faculty and students who participate. Contributions of consortium geography faculty members are examined. (Contains 3 tables and 6 figures.)
