Morality Play
Reutter, Vicki
School Library Journal, v52 n8 p36-37 Aug 2006
In a perfect world, students would apply the ethics taught to them in guiding their school-related use of technology to their activities beyond campus. However in reality, they often do not make the connection. Educators should be aware of how students are using entertainment technologies and help them make good decisions--both on and off their watch. In this article, the author provides media specialists with some resources that will help them in teaching digital ethics to their students. Library media specialists have a unique opportunity to interact with students about their Web-related entertainment activities. Moreover, they need to help their teaching peers integrate digital ethics into the curriculum. For starters, they can help them introduce the important concepts of copyright and fair use.
