Considers the Italian mathematical journals of the second half of the nineteenth century oriented to the teaching of mathematics at different school levels. Focuses on three journals: "Rivista di matematica elementare,""Periodico di matematica," and "Rivista di Matematica." Analyzes elements that help outline their cultural orientation, in relation with the mathematical research and classroom practice of the period. (Author/MDH)
