Annual AIDP Impact Evaluation Report, FY 1978: Executive Summary.
McManis Associates, Inc., Washington, DC.; University Associates, Inc., Washington, DC.; Advanced Institutional Development Program Two-Year College Consortium.
The purpose of this report is to provide an in-depth view of the impact of involvement in the Advanced Institutional Development Program (AIDP) on institutions of higher education. The study consists of three major evaluation elements, which are presented after an introductory section of conclusions, recommendations, and future implications which reveals strengthened academic programs and student support services and improved administrative processes. The first of the evaluation elements is the Planning Team Report, which provides an assessment of the achievement of institutional goals as perceived by administrators and faculty. The questionnaire required qualitative judgements on AIDP impact on each of the institutions 1977-1978 academic goals, requested available information on indirect impacts, asked for information on AIDP impact on fund-raising, and requested a description of changes in upper-level management. The second data collection mode was the AIDP Impact Questionnaire which obtained baseline data on conditions immediately prior to the grant period and during the last term prior to the end of fiscal year 1978. The impact areas which were examined were curriculum improvement, student personnel services development, continuing education growth, and the planning, mangement, and evaluation system. The third evaluation element consisted of on-site visits to verify information and reveal further indications of impact. (MB)
