In this article, the authors discuss the Social Justice Data Fair that has been held at the Linden School in Toronto for the past several years. It is an opportunity for math students to use data management skills to study issues they are concerned about. The fair takes place in April, after nearly a full year of practicing inquiry skills in math and in other classes. It is an example of how the independent, girl-centered school for students in grades 1 to 12 tries to include topics of social justice in the curriculum. Compared with other Toronto-area private schools, the school is quite culturally diverse, and enrolls students from many nontraditional families. Most of the families support learning math through the lens of social justice.
