Access to Information: Perspectives of a Superintendent and a School Board Member
Adams, Helen; Moskalski, Michael D.; McBride, Linda L.
Knowledge Quest, v44 n1 p49-53 Sep-Oct 2015
School librarians often wonder whether school superintendents and school board members understand and support intellectual freedom for students in K-12 schools. In this article, an administrator and a school board member discuss their thoughts and the actions they took to support access to information in the face of formal challenges to school library resources. The introduction to this article was written by Helen Adams. The article is divided into two sections: (1) "Lessons Learned" (Michael Moskalski); and (2) "The Simpsons vs. The Freedom to Read: A School Board Member's Perspective" (Linda L. McBride).
