Effects of Supervisors' Sex, Focus, and Experience on Preferences for Interpersonal Power Bases.
Robyak, James E.; And Others
Counselor Education and Supervision, v26 n4 p299-309 Jun 1987
Examined the effects of counseling supervisors' sex, amount of supervisory experience, and supervisory focus on preferences for the referent, expert, and legitimate power bases. Supervisors rated the utility of trainee responses. Men and supervisors with relatively little experience preferred the referent power base. Supervisors who focused on trainee self-awareness rather than conceptualization skills preferred the expert power base. (Author/KS)
