Reconnecting with Values and Ethics: Learning Lessons from Literature and Human Developmental Theory.
Murrell, Patricia H.; Carpenter, William E.
Judges' Journal, v38 n2 p16-18,20-22,43-45 Spr 1999
Combining literature and human development is seen as an effective strategy for enhancing personal and professional growth of the judiciary. Three theoretical perspectives provide a framework for understanding experiences associated with development in middle and later adulthood: adults' varied learning styles, the life cycle and age-related developmental experiences, and cognitive development of increasingly complex ways of thinking and knowing.
