Topics in Cognitive Development: Language and Operational Thought. Volume 2.
Presseisen, Barbara Z.; And Others
This is the second volume in a series that records the official Symposium Proceedings of the Jean Piaget Society and examines the theoretical, empirical, and applied aspects of Jean Piaget's seminal epistemology. The 12 papers are divided into four areas: language development, formal reasoning, social cognition, and applied research. The topics of the papers include: thought and language, the relevance of Piaget's early work for a semantic approach to language acquisition, new prospects for neuropsychological research on disorders of perception and language, formal reasoning, symbol manipulation, interface between the behavioral and cognitive-developmental approach to research in morality, and the function of reading in the transition to concrete and formal operations.
