This annotated bibliography lists articles about educational issues that were published in Japanese periodicals from January through March 1990. The vast majority of articles are taken from the "Japan Times,""Daily Yomiuri,""Mainichi Daily," and "Asahi Evening." However, articles are also taken from "USA Today,""Time,""Newsweek,""Asian Wall Street Journal,""Far Eastern Economic Review," and "International Herald Tribune." The entries are arranged in alphabetical sections by article title or author name. The majority focus on events, trends and developments relating to educational programs, schools, and students in Japan. Articles about the United States, China, Great Britain, and other nations tend to deal with issues relating to Japan, Japanese students, ethnic populations in these countries, comparisons of educational systems, and areas in these countries with high Japanese populations. Following the alphabetical entries are articles beginning with numbers. An index listing titles and subjects is provided. (SD)
