Quantitative Study of Emotional Intelligence and Communication Levels in Information Technology Professionals
Hendon, Michalina
ProQuest LLC, D.B.A. Dissertation, Capella University
This quantitative non-experimental correlational research analyzes the relationship between emotional intelligence and communication due to the lack of this research on information technology professionals in the U.S. One hundred and eleven (111) participants completed a survey that measures both the emotional intelligence and communication adaptability level of the information technology professional. The survey includes the The Schutte Self-Report Emotional Intelligence Test (SSEIT), a 33-item self-report measure of emotional intelligence and the Communication Adaptability Scale (CAS) a 30-item, whole-level measure of social communication. The data from the survey was analyzed and the outcome of a significant positive relationship between EI and CA is discussed within this paper.
