Co-Teaching in Secondary Schools: Teacher Reports of Developments in Australian and American Classrooms.
Rice, Don; Zigmond, Naomi
Learning Disabilities: Research & Practice, v15 n4 p190-97 Fall 2000
Interviews with, and classroom observations of, 17 teachers in Queensland (Australia) and Pennsylvania examined co-teaching approaches to provide support to students with disabilities in inclusive secondary classrooms. Co-teaching partnerships in both countries were dominated by content subject teachers with special educators in "monitoring" or "helping" roles. Teachers in both countries felt that well implemented co-teaching resulted in academic and social gains for all students. (Contains seven references.) (Author/DB)
