Dean Keith Simonton received his PhD from Harvard University and is currently Distinguished Professor of Psychology at the University of California, Davis. His research program concentrates on the cognitive, personality, developmental, and sociocultural factors behind exceptional creativity, leadership, genius, and talent. In this interview, Simonton talks about things that prompted him to study creativity and the best way to measure it. He describes some of his responsibilities as a Distinguished Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of California, Davis. He also shares some of the research that he is working on currently and offers advice on the things not to do in research.
