New Approach to Test Anxiety
Rothman, Davis K.
Journal of College Student Psychotherapy, v18 n4 p45-60 Jul 2004
Examinations profoundly affect students' psychological and emotional well-being. Not surprisingly, in today's test-centered climate test anxiety has become a widespread problem. A new, multi-dimensional treatment approach to test anxiety reduction is presented with both the mental health clinician and educator in mind. Suited to high school, university, graduate and older students returning to school, it is based on a tripartite design comprising individual and group psychotherapy and "directed treatment." Various theories and etiological explanations for test anxiety are also explored.
