What Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Adolescents Know and Think about AIDS.

A survey of 204 secondary students with deafness or hearing impairment suggested that adolescents had a general idea about what human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS) are and the potential impact of the disease. However, they demonstrated gaps in knowledge of how the disease is transmitted and prevented and who can get AIDS. (Author/JDD)
