Seven examples of school auditorium innovation are presented with accompanying floor plans. The concept of the divisible auditorium is illustrated through facilities combining auditorium, classroom, theater, and audio-visual center usages. Featured within the descriptions are--(1) a theater-in-the-round with individually controllable segments, (2) a full width single bisecting steel partition dividing a 2,400 seat auditorium, (3) a 1,200 seat auditorium for 21 functions, (4) a portable seating system allowing flexible stage configuration, (5) a length-wise segmentation system, (6) rear projection screens, (7) an economical manually operated partition system, and (8) an alcove classroom configuration.
