Chapter One in Ohio: Education Consolidation and Improvement Act. 21st Annual Evaluation Report, Fiscal 1986.
Young, Eileen, Ed.
Recent activities provided in Ohio through Chapter 1 of the Education Consolidation and Improvement Act and its predecessor, Title I of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act are summarized in this annual report. Specific information contained in the report includes statistics for fiscal 1986 (the 1985-86 school year and the summer that followed), participation trends, instructional impact, expenditure and staffing patterns, parent involvement, and five-year trends. The report's various sections (1) explain the basic Chapter 1 services provided by the state's public school districts; (2) describe the special Chapter 1 services provided for children of migratory agricultural workers and handicapped, neglected, and delinquent children being educated in state agency schools; and (3) describe the program's organization and leadership. The report indicates that, overall, the Chapter 1 program has helped children become successful learners. Numerous black and white photographs are included. (FL)
