One of a set of fourteen instructional outlines for use in a course to train novice firemen, this guide covers the topic of protective breathing equipment. The various types of breathing equipment and their use are described as well as the major respiratory hazards such as smoke and gases. This outline is to be used in conjunction with the International Fire Service Training Association's manual, "Fire Service Rescue and Protective Breathing Practices" (see note).
