This analytical bibliography describes a group of selected documents that examine the current status and extent of development of adult education in Latin America. Documents were selected for inclusion based upon their focus on and concern for international and national goals and needs of adult education programs and for distribution to countries that participate in UNESCO's "Principal Project for Education." Section 1 describes five works that present and analyze adult education trends which have developed during the past 10 years. Seven documents, abstracted in section 2, examine teaching methodologies, techniques, and evaluation procedures, while section 3 presents five works that analyze adult education efforts specifically directed toward women, youth, and selected ethnic populations. Two documents, described in section 4, examine the relationship between education and employment, and section 5 offers four documents that focus on adult literacy. Seven works, presented in section 6, consider the relatively new expansion of adult education research and studies in Latin America. (JHP)
