The report's introduction lists the survey categories and defines or explains each category. The main body of the report lists responses from each state's regulatory agency, categorized into the following areas: number of regulated homes; definitions and regulatory requirements; unannounced inspection procedures; tracking of license denials and revocations; complaint procedures; provider qualifications; provider training and orientation; discipline policy; emergency medical consent policy; environmental policy; immunization policy for children; fire code policy; nutrition policy; smoking policy; before and after school programs; infant care programs; programs for children with disabilities; sick child care programs; zoning regulations; available resources; local contact; and pending/new legislation. The report's appendix lists each state's regulatory office and contact person. (LBT)
