Troutman, James G. – 1978
The basic question considered in this research practicum was did female students' participation in a special six-week mathematics clinic significantly reduce anxiety towards mathematics. Seventeen female participants completed both a pre and post Aiken-Dreger Math Attitude Scale. A t-test was used to compare the mean pretest and mean posttest…

Dreger, Ralph Mason; And Others – Multivariate Behavioral Research, 1988
Seven data sets (namely, clinical data on children) were subjected to clustering by seven algorithms--the B-coefficient, Linear Typal Analysis; elementary linkage analysis, Numerical Taxonomy System, Statistical Analysis System hierarchical clustering method, Taxonomy, and Bolz's Type Analysis. The little-known B-coefficient method compared…

Attitude toward mathematics is often characterized as being either positive or negative, that is, essentially a one-dimensional phenomenon. This research was an investigation of construct validity for attitude toward mathematics. The Mathematics Attitude Scale developed by Aiken and Dreger (1961) was administered to 148 tenth graders. A principal…

Martin, William E.; Dreger, Ralph Mason – 1983
Previously, analysis of repeated teacher ratings and time-sampling observations of selected social behaviors in young children had provided evidence of clearly delineated dimensionality in interpersonal orientations with substantial behavioral continuity and intra- and interindividual stability. The present investigation was designed to replicate…

Boudreaux, Ronald F.; Dreger, Ralph M. – Journal of Personality Assessment, 1974
Examined the content factors of the GPPT using factor analytic procedures based on item intercorrelations, in contrast to the published version's use of part scores from a prior groupings of items. In terms of what it proposes to measure, it was concluded that the GPPT has very limited utility. (Author/RC)

Marullo, Sam, Jr.; Dreger, Ralph Mason – 1980
For two decades the Behavioral Classification Project (BCP) has been developing instruments of a behavioral nature for the classification of emotional disorders and the classification of persons with specified patterns of emotional disorders. The BCP has four subprojects: the Pre-school Behavioral Classification Project (PBCP), the Children's…

Duncan, James A.; Dreger, Ralph Mason – Journal of Genetic Psychology, 1978
In an attempt to use behavioral reports as a taxonomic tool, a discriminant analysis was planned to assess the capability of the Children's Behavioral Classification Project (CBCP) profiles to differentiate between gifted and normal samples of children. Results indicate that behavioral reports can be used to identify gifted children. (MP)

Crinella, Francis M.; Dreger, Ralph Mason – Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology, 1972
Syndromes of dysfunction are discussed with reference to commonalities of neuropsychological deficit. The results support the usefulness of this version of profile analysis in developmental neuropsychological investigations. (Author)

Gorsuch, Richard L.; Dreger, Ralph Mason – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1979
Answers the intermediate need for a computer procedure that can provide a reasonably sophisticated factor analysis for as many as 500 variables--a program to cover the vast majority of factor analytic requirements with nearly the same degree of ease as that afforded by use of the "little jiffy" programs.
